New Exhibition “Home” at Gallery NaWei features private trust Luwee’s to support culinary talent

Private Collector launches Our Hidden Talent by Luwee’s to raise funds and support culinary talent through mentorships

11 Aug 2026, Singapore - In celebration of Singapore’s 61st National Day, Gallery NaWei is holding a new exhibition “Home” with private trust Luwee’s, with proceeds going toward supporting culinary talent through mentorships.

Our Hidden Talent by Luwee’s is a private initiative launched by Evy Wee and her husband to support emerging talent who have chosen to pursue artisan crafts outside of the white collared profession in the corporate world.

“We believe everyone has a talent waiting to be discovered. In this world that is increasingly automated by AI, it is imperative we support our young people to pursue their passion and skills that can bring their ideas to life.

Our Hidden Talent seeks to work with established chefs, cafe and bar owners to mentor and encourage the next generation of culinary talent while growing their exposure overseas.”

Evy Wee, Co-Founder, Our Hidden Talent by Luwee’s

“‘Home’ is very special to my heart as it is a non-profit initiative that seeks to support emerging talent to become a master in their craft. We are excited to host the inaugural exhibition of Our Hidden Talent by Luwee’s at our new renovated space at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.

As an art gallery, our role is to serve as a bridge between artists and collectors - allowing creativity to be seen and ensuring that art continues to inspire future generations.”

Jenny Zhu, Owner, Gallery NaWei

“Our Hidden Talent by Luwee’s is a meaningful initiative to help aspiring chefs. I encourage young talent to pursue their dreams with courage and grit. Identify a chef whom you like and want to become and go work for them. Absorb the knowledge and experience that you get like a sponge and you will eventually be able to express who you are as a chef and what you want for your restaurant.”

Chris Kong, Chef-Founder, Dearborn Breakfast Club, located at Everton Park and New Bahru

“Home” features 28 works that include paintings and mixed media works by established and emerging artists from Singapore, Southeast Asia and beyond. Exploring the themes of memory, belonging and identity, the Singapore artworks include Villages in Bali (a batik artwork by Aw Tee Hong), Long Walk Home (an acrylic and oil on canvas piece by Choy Moo Kheong), Day Out (a mixed media piece by Ling Yang Chang), 27 (graphite on paper by Yong Kah Kin), A Little Light Goes a Long Way (acrylic on canvas by Melissa Teo).

Singapore Artworks

“Home” is open to public viewing at Gallery NaWei, The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore from 21 to 30 August, with 22 August reserved for private viewings by appointment.
